The Rwandan Gad Kirenga offers a particular and effective therapy, “Kunga Therapy”
The book “An Introduction into Kunga Therapy basics” by Gad Kirenga, which has already proven itself in helping families with a member suffering from autism, was presented in Lomé. This is a book in several chapters through which this medical practitioner explains the different techniques that can help parents take better care of their children suffering from autism. During this presentation which took place this Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in Lomé, the author, of Rwandan origin, returned to the different particularities of his masterpiece, written in two languages (French and English) but also and above all of this therapy of which he is the inventor. In addition to the writings which explain the techniques, it is a question of different diagrams which can allow parents, even those who have not had advanced studies or who cannot read, to observe and carry out certain practices and touches to relieve their autistic children. and improve their daily lives.
“This book is specifically dedicated to children suffering from autism. We have observed that many children suffer from this illness in Africa. It is a book which is addressed to the parents of these children to show them how to take care of their autistic children, who cannot keep quiet in public places, at church, at school, who cannot go to their needs in the appropriate places, ... We have exposed in the work, different techniques that can allow a parent to take care of their child in the case", explained Gad Kirenga, author of the work "An Introduction into Kunga Therapy basics”.
And for some who may fear a conflict between the practices taught and the therapies of modern medicine which are based on taking medications, Mr. Kirenga, inventor of Kunga Therapy, and head of the Genuine Kunga Center and a clinic which brings together various specialties relating to neurology and the treatment of these ailments, in Rwanda, is part of an approach of complementarity. “Our techniques and therapies do not put an end to pre-existing treatments but complement them.” “In the techniques that are taught to parents, there is no need for drugs to be used, nor for machines but everything is done from our fingers which must be used to touch certain parts of the body, to massage them to relieve their pain. In this way, we help them to live in better conditions as if nothing had happened. In this way, we can prevent them from another form of injustice which is that of treating children who suffer from autism as people subject to the manipulation of spirits, witchcraft... and other unfounded human judgments. And so, through this, we want to make people understand that autism is like any other illness that can be treated to relieve the pain of those who suffer from it,” he explained.
In addition to the techniques taught there, “An Introduction into Kunga Therapy basics” also relates the testimonies which speak so highly of it. “We can also find in this book, several testimonials from people who have put our techniques and methods into practice and who have managed to enormously help their children take care of their daily lives. We must therefore understand that the best does not necessarily come from outside but that Africans are also capable of good and of achieving inventions that can change the world. It is therefore time that we put our knowledge to the benefit of our continent.”
An assurance given by Gad Kirenga and which is based on many of these testimonies but above all, the effectiveness of the techniques through the experiences of a number of patients entrusted by parents from all over the world, who have passed through the centers Genuine Kunga from Rwanda, Tanzania and the Central African Republic means that a parent who gets started and follows the techniques rehashed in the book can see for themselves the improvements and changes in their child’s life. suffering from autism already after the 3rd month.
